2 oz. Laird’s Apple Brandy
1 oz. Sweet vermouth
3 Dashes Angostura bitters
1. Fill a cocktail mixing glass halfway with ice
2. Add all ingredients and stir well with a bar spoon
3. Strain into a coupe/martini glass
4. Garnish with a lemon peel
A variation of the Manhattan and a true classic cocktail that first appeared in print in George J. Kappeler’s 1895 bartending guide, “Modern American Drinks”.
